A leader European leader sends troops into a neighboring country using the excuse that it was once part of his country and that many of his country men are in danger. Later he will hold a referendum and obtain a 99.7% vote in favor of the take over from the area he seized. The major western powers do nothing. The date is March 13th, 1938 and Adolph Hitler has seized his home country of Austria. Seeing the inaction from France and Great Britain, Hitler invades the Sudetenland using the same claims. When Neville Chamberlain travels to Berlin to confront Herr Hitler, he backs down on the demands that Germany retreat from the Sudetenland. There will be peace in our time. Says Chamberlain. On September 1st, 1939...Hitler invades Poland and WWII begins. Where will Putin go next? In 2008 he invaded Georgia to liberate ethnic Russians living in South Ossetia. In 2014 he repeats his actions in Crimea. Those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.
