A lifetime ago, Ben (Vereen) and I were in LA in between work, staying at the Chateau Marmont and decided to take a drive. We had been on planes non-stop. We were out for an hour or so and ended up in front of the Improv. We decided to go in and see if Budd Friedman was around. He was and we spent sometime with Budd when Robin came in, asked if he could work on some material and took the stage for a while. Of course, he was wonderful. Afterwards, he came over. The evening was filled with great conversation, genuine comradery and of course, laughter. This has always been one of my treasured memories. Thank you for the love, laughter and tears, Robin. My heart is sad.
