A list of questions has been emailed to petragas which provides them with the opportunity to respond to the issues raised at the meeting. The covering message reads as follows: In your article in Tasmanian Country you invited questions from local landowners who had an interest in the present exploration lease over 3000 odd square km of Southern Tasmania. A meeting was held in Oatlands on Friday 5th of August with the intention of providing a platform for local landholders to gain an insight into the implications of this application for themselves and the district. Unfortunately it would seem you were unable to attend that meeting and so the presentation was somewhat on-sided. In order to redress that balance, I have attached a list of questions which provide you with an opportunity to respond to the assertions made at that meeting. While it would be appreciated if you answer the questions individually, if you feel they do not permit you to provide a full explanation of your position, then feel free to provide additional material. The answers received will be emailed to those who attended the meeting and will also be posted on a Facebook Page which was created in response to the need identified at the meeting. Attendees at the meeting included local politicians, councillors, residents of various communities in the district and also owners of some of the larger holdings in the district. Clearly it would advantageous to your interests to respond promptly so that your views can be considered before submissions are lodged with MRT. Unfortunately the late notification of this matter has resulted in a very short time frame, which I recognise – however we would appreciate your response before COB Friday if at all possible. Kind Regards etc
