A little excitement for Irene today, but she handled it with quick thinking and came through fine. Stepping off the lawn tractor to move an object, she glanced back to see smoke and then flames appear from under the front of the cowling. HOLY COW! A quick decision that the extinguisher in the house may be too far away, she scooped up gravel and dirt to smother the oil fire on top of the muffler. A bit of excitement still in her voice when she called me and the tone said get your A.. up here NOW! Apparently, when you have a small oil leak from the valve cover dripping onto the muffler, one is not supposed to say Ill fix it tomorrow the tractor survived fine and is now in the shop to fix that oil leak. Thank you Honey, you did Great!
