A little experiment in canopy framing: I took a piece of clear - TopicsExpress

A little experiment in canopy framing: I took a piece of clear decal paper and painted a chromate green acrylic onto it, then over-painted with the airplane color. After the paint dried, I put on two coats of Microscale Liquid Decal Film. When this had dried, I cut narrow strips of the decal sheet and applied them to the canopy to simulate framing. (I had previously coated the canopy with Future). The inside color of the strip was chromate green and the outside color was the airplane color. These strips have to applied very carefully and you cannot do all of them at once. When all the strips were applied and dry, I gave the canopy another coat of Future. Now we will see how it holds up. One photo shows the finished canopy (1:48 SBD Dauntless) and the other shows the canopy with several cut strips and the original painted decal sheet. I painted way too much of the sheet, still learning as I go.
