A little novel from my heart: I love Christmas. I am Christmas, if you ask some of my friends that really know me...lol! :) I get depressed when my decorations are not up on time and I leave them up later than most folks. I am the person that enjoys putting them up anywhere from the first of November, (yes, you read that right) to Thanksgiving day, but definitely no later than December 1st. Well, these past few years, I havent been able to do what I wanted, between being busy taking care of my mom and her Alzheimers, trying to grow my photography business, and be there for my teenage sons, and disabled hubby. Each year, weve been rushing against the clock to get decorations up, even just a few to make it look like we cared. And it has made me sad. Then this year is the first without my mom in our house, since carefully choosing & placing her in the nursing home in June. Again a sadness. I love my mom so much, and I miss her, but I could no longer care for her the way she needed. And sooo, I also usually have too many irons in the fire, and have so much to do, that I rarely sleep more than 3-4 hours, & then I run myself into the ground and dont know when to stop and take care of me. Im vowing to make 2015 better, for me, for all those I help and am engaged with in one way or another, starting now. If no-one in my family wants to help me, well, fooey on em. Christmas decorations make me happy, so Im going to decorate like its 1999, & bling my house out to the best of my abilities, with the decorations and many trees I like to put up. Ill also finish up a few personal projects and just do what I do & keep on keepin on. One day, way off in the future, my boys will appreciate it, and be able to understand their wife and why she wants to decorate to the ninth degree and build their own Christmas decorating traditions with their kids.
