Sun 10 Nov 3:30 at the Zoo. Looks like a good afternoon speaking line-up. I cannot go; hope some Brisbane FB friends will make it. Sure to sell out, so get onto it and book ITS THE MENS TURN TO REVISIT THE RIVER CITY! Thats right, returning for a third year of missive readings and general skylarking, Men of Letters will be filling Brisbanes loveliest wood-floored attic The Zoo with its patented brand of testosterone fuelled prose and a hair-raising selection of the countrys finest and most dapper talent. These chaps will go where no man has gone before - into the celebration of the lost art of letter writing. On Sunday, November 10th, co-curators Michaela McGuire and Marieke Hardy will bring together for the first time on stage: Climate Change jesus TIM FLANNERY ABC 612 Breakfast host SPENCER HOWSON Iconic Australian actor ERNIE DINGO Political journalist, commentator and national treasure MUNGO MACCALLUM Writer and musician ROSS HOPE Comedian and host of Dirty Laundry LAWRENCE MOONEY Frontman of Bluejuice JAKE STONE Pop firework and actor BRENDAN MACLEAN and musician, band manager and stand-up DOM MILLER These fine gentlemen will each be penning and reading a letter to The Woman Who Changed My Life. Therell be the usual wine and letter writing combo that weve come to love, all held in the beautiful surrounds of The Zoo. Stamps and envelopes will be provided, and in the spirit of participation attendees are encouraged to pen short notes. Men of Letters kicks off at 3:30 and bookings are essential. For $25 plus b.f. thats a fairly formidable afternoons entertainment. All funds raised go - as ever - to our friends at Edgars Mission.
