A little update for you: Our single is at the record pressing plant. Were expecting test pressings soon. The A-side, Formula One Generation, is sung by the wonderful Lauren Rocket of (all girl band) Rocket fame. The song was written by Steve Gregory for the Pooh Sticks album after Optimistic Fool (1995), but there never was a next record after that one. However, I got hold of a demo and recorded the instruments at home in Utrecht, while Lauren did her vocals in Los Angeles. Thats where she lives, you know. We also got some help from my friend Arnold Lasseur who played mandolin and fiddle on the track. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the song remained unreleased for the best part of 7 years. The B-side, Girls Going Crazy For The La La La, has the amazing Sara Johnston from Montreal singing on it. She has put out two great solo CDs, but is perhaps best known as a founder member of the excellent Bran Van 3000 who had hits with songs like Drinkin In L.A. and Astounded (with the late Curtis Mayfield) and should have been bigger than the Beatles. The song, Girls Going Crazy… was written by Steve Gregory and myself for our Where The Bands Are CD (1996), which was released on the Sympathy For The Record Industry label as International Language. For some reason we didnt use the song for that record. An overproduced and really slow version was abandoned by the Bunnies after several failed attempts by Sara to sing it, so we went back to a just one guitar and slightly faster version and now its just right. The 7 vinyl single (with sleeve art by Dutch artist Claudia Hek) will be out at the end of the year (we hope) on Australian label Insipid Vinyl. The first 100 copies, or so, will be on clear vinyl, so if you dont want the regular black version, be quick to order it. All copies will come with a download thingy, so you can have it on your computer, or in your iPod, phone, or whatever. Very sophisticated! Of course, well let you know as soon as possible when and where you can buy/order our single when its out. And we hope youll love it! Michel
