A little update from Nikki regarding the visit to the specialist. Please continue to share and keep Emaleigh in your prayers, you can tell that they have a long road ahead xxxx Our consulatation with Prof Novitsky Inbox x Frikkie Bosch 4:02 AM (11 hours ago) to me Dear B, Today 14.03.2014 we met with Professor Novitsky he is the Haemotologist from UCT Private Academy in Cape Town. He will be doing the Bone Marrow Transplant for Emaleigh. He explained the whole procedure and why we should do it now, so I will try my best to carry everything over to you as best I can. He said that the 1st thing he needs to do now is contact the medical aid and get Authorisation for the transplant, this can take up to 3 weeks. Then he makes contact with the donor, he gives them 3 dates to to choose from. Once they have chosen a date he will the contact us and advise when we need to come bacm to Cape Town. All of this can take up to 6 weeks which puts us in May and them Emaleigh asked him if we can do it in June because May is her birthday month. Emaleigh will be in hospital for a full 4 weeks then she will be discharged but will have to remain staying in Cape Town for a further 3-6 months depending on her recovery as she will have no immune system and will have to go back to the hospital on a weekly basis for tests and for immune booster medication. She will be very closely monitored for any infections etc. He also said that she will be out for school for up to 9 months, which means she will have to repeat grade 4. I have a copy of the draft of the trust fund I am just waiting for the final document then I will send all the details to you because we are in desperate needs of funds to assist us with petrol, accomodation food etc. Frikkie will only be able to stay with us for the 1st 4 weeks then he will have to go back to Port Elizabeth to work and travel up to us every 2nd weekend when he is off, Taytum-Paige will stay in PE with her ouma and oupa and come up with Frikkie every 2nd weekend depending on wether she has any germs or infections. So I think this is all I have for now but I will definitely keep you updated. Thanks again for everything. Love Nikki
