A little update on our Egyptian boys. They went in for castrate on - TopicsExpress

A little update on our Egyptian boys. They went in for castrate on the 22nd and I asked the vet to look at their eyes whilst they were under. He had a good look whilst I was there with them and was quite shocked by what he saw. Poor Galahad had infection in both eyes and tumours in them. Gotham had one sunken eye and one ready to pop. He warned me that removal may be the only option. True enough he rang a few hours later to say that both Galahads eyes needed removing as the tumours were deep and the only way to know of they were just in the eye or attached was to remove the eyes. But he said Galahad must have been in awful pain so there was no choice for me. The good news is the tumours were solely in the eye and are gone now too. Gothams bad eye was also in a mess and was going to get severely infected if left. So that had to be removed too. What I thought would be aggressive treatment with antibiotics became something a lot more serious. But the boys sailed through and Gotham is so much happier now. He must have been in pain too. Galahad is a bit more wary of us than he was, plus what tiny bit of vision he had is totally gone now, but hes coming back round. The first picture was not long after they had their ops. The other pictures are today. I still think they are supremely gorgeous. x
