A long time ago in John Years, My Uncle Fred took me to the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. Fred taught me a lot about what we saw, but the main thing that stays with me is when he said, These are the impressionists. They show more visual effects than details. One actually sees the picture better when viewing it from a distance. I love the impressionists. In later years when my writing started to mature, I found that I could paint pictures with words. Then I found that I could follow the impressionists and allow the reader to view a mental picture from a distance--To mentally stand back and view that which is depicted in the written word. I used this technique in a book about rednecks, believe it or not. The name of the book is Requiem for a Redneck and it is available world-wide as an Ebook at Amazon. For a small price you can read it and get the mental pictures which are guaranteed to make you laugh, make you cry, and make the ladies go Aw Plus, I will really appreciate your support.
