A long time ago, in a land far away, A babe born in Bethlehem, a bed made of hay, Many traveled distances, led by a bright star. In hopes to meet this infant bearing gifts from afar. A prophecy fulfilled though the infants life in trouble For the King sought to slay him his guards he did double. So in listening to the spirit, the family did leave. They traveled to many cities to get their son reprieve. His earthly father a carpenter Joseph was his name. Jesus then learned his craft and greater he became. Although a simple carpenter he taught so much more. His example of love did signify greater things in store. Jesus grew to manhood, his countenance divine, He healed a man with evil spirits, casting them into swine A young girl lay silent her father near her bed, Many gathered round for they knew she was dead. Jesus came to see her hearing all their cries, "Talitha be whole," he said, "Now open up thine eyes" Then her eyes did open no longer did they weep, He turned to all the multitude saying, "Go and feed my sheep." Jesus knew his life was short for the guards they did pursue, He knelt and prayed in Gethsemane for all, even me and you. Then the tragic pain he received as if a giant flood, taking upon all our sins through every pore his precious blood. A kiss was placed upon his cheek by a man he knew, To give the guards assurance, this was our King the Jew. They bound our Savior and took him to a place, Where people could mock him and spit upon his face. They placed a wreath of thorns and hammered it on his head. Nailed to a cross he was crucified, then left until dead. Through his life there was no malice, only love did he show. He led by great example, and created a way for us to go. So my friends whom believe in this great man, Please follow his example, for it is the perfect plan. Keep your head held up high, all of you every last one. For God sacrificed for us he gave his only Begotten Son. By Michael Weeks
