A long time ago, there were just a handful of us performing live in Second Life. Back then I remember when everything was just starting out and I also remember when people appreciated what the venues undertook to bring our shows to the SL public. I urge everyone who reads this to remember that while yes, the performers are out there working hard to bring you some great live music and fun events, please remember that the venues are putting in great effort to do the same. If it werent for the venues and the amazing effort they put forth, SL music would likely not be the same. So if you dont have $L to tip the venue, BUY some!!!! Who do you think is paying to keep that venues doors open. The venue owners are... and believe it when I tell you, they DO have expenses. Conversely, as venue patrons in SL who dont need to leave the comfort of home, or pajamas, theres NO expense for gas, food, drinks, etc. So out of the $50 or so that you would have spent in real life to go see a live performer, you keep $49 of it and tip the venue the other $L250. And why not take another dollar and tip the artist. Help keep live music alive. Help to continue to grow our amazing and diverse and thriving music community in SL. Whether youre new to it all or a long time SL resident, its the right thing to do if you enjoy all that it has to offer.
