A lot of chicken keepers, despite best efforts seem to be loosing birds or having birds fall sick with what sounds like heat stress. You can help by making sure it is not exasperated by parasites, ie worm and "Smite" regularly, and if you suspect dehydration then giving electrolytes is known to help. Make sure you have good ventilation in your hen house if you lock them up at night, ideally try to convert the pop hole door into a wire mesh "door" to give extra ventilation, at the same time keeping them safe from Mr Fox. Make sure they have plenty of shade and access to plenty of extra water.
