A lot of people think that making homemade products is as easy as a simple recipe. I know that I did a lot of research before I made anything and I read everything I could find on the ingredients and especially the Oils and the Essential Oils that I use. If you arent willing to spend the time to do the research you will not get a real handle on what you are making and why it isnt working. Some people also think it is a great way to make cheap gifts. Soap making is an expensive hobby to get into if you are going to make real soap. Most people do not consider the start up costs when thinking they can make their own stuff. There is a lot of equipment you need to buy specifically for soap making. You cant just use the same stuff as you use to cook with. Also making real soap requires the use of lye. Lye is wonderful stuff but has to be used correctly and used with care or it could be dangerous.These are just some things you should consider before thinking this is an easy way to make gifts. If this hasnt scared you away...and you want to put in the work and money involved. Then you will love making soaps etc. It is an addicting hobby.
