A lot of you have watched The Notebook and have gotten a lot of - TopicsExpress

A lot of you have watched The Notebook and have gotten a lot of different meanings from it. There is a part of the movie that took my breath away. It was the sceen when Noah had a candlelight dinner for Alli in her room and she remembered him. It took me back to one day in the nursing home. It had been a long time since my Daddy knew who I was, he thought I was his sister Connie, who passed away in the late 60s early 70s. On this particular visit he talked about the church fiestas we used to attend in Waco when he was a little boy. Eventually we had to leave. As we were walking out the door, he called my name, Tina! I stopped dead in my tracks and just looked at Clayton. We ran back in the room and for 5 minutes my Daddy was back! I lived for those moments. This movie came out in 2004 and we just got around to watching it. It brought back all of the pain and emotion of watching Alzhiemers take away my Daddy. Another thing I want to express to you all. There is NO shame in having to put your loved ones in a nursing home...none! Really think about the person trying to care for the ill person. It it very hard...physically and emotionally for the caregiver(s)...very hard. Unless you can quit your job and be able to give 24/7 care, it cant physically be done. One of the hardest things I ever had to do was sign on the dotted line and admit my Daddy into a nursing home. But, looking back it was what was best for my family. So, the next time you judge someone and say I would NEVER put my parents in a nursing home, think about what you are saying...EVERY situation is different...AND you just may have hurt the feelings of a person who had no choice and had to put their loved one in a nursing home. PEACE♡LOVE ♡ BLESSINGS ♡
