A lovely rare track from 1979 from the first of two solo LPs for Cass Elliots kid sister Leah Kunkel, one of the most respected and utilised sessions singers of the 1970s. Her warm and textured vocals graced many a Top 40 hit: Handy Man (James Taylor) and Bright Eyes (Art Garfunkel) among many others. Leahs self titled debut featured some great tracks including her own Losing in love as well as brothers Gibbs Ive got to get a message to you. Step right up, issued as a single from the eponymous LP,is an apt title for a life indelibly altered by her sisters premature death in 1974, leaving Leah to raise Casss daughter. Leah went on to form The Coyote Sisters, a group she still performs in. A classy voice!
