A man and teenage girl were arrested this morning after an imitation firearm was found in a car in Para Hills. At about 4am, patrols stopped a car on Williamson Road with an altered number plate. Upon approaching the car, police allegedly saw a handgun in the centre console. The gun was later found to be an imitation firearm. Also located in the car were two sets of number plates suspected of being stolen. Further checks on the male driver’s licence showed that he was disqualified from driving. A 27-year-old Golden Grove man was charged with possess imitation firearm, unlawful possession, breach of bail and driving while disqualified. He was refused bail and will appear in court today. A 16-year-old Ingle Farm girl was charged with possess imitation firearm, and was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court at a later date.
