A man and woman are being sought for questioning in connection with fraudulently obtaining a large amount of cash from an elderly man. The incident occurred at a U.S. 1 South parking lot (Walmart) this past Monday afternoon. The 82-year old St. Augustine male victim stated that he was in the parking lot of the shopping center at 2:00 p.m. on May 12th when he was approached by the man and woman. The two detailed a story about themselves obtaining a significant amount of gambling money. They also advised the victim that he could profit from the gambling money if he would withdraw money. The victim gave the couple $250 then and withdrew over $4,000 more from his bank. The female suspect is observed on surveillance at the bank and her images have been provided with this release. She was described as a black female in her 60’s wearing a red flower dress and carrying a large black purse. The male suspect was described as a black male in his 60’s who was wearing a grey shirt and grey trousers.
