A man moved into a new house. He noticed the sound of a dog - TopicsExpress

A man moved into a new house. He noticed the sound of a dog howling and howling. He ignored it for the first couple of days but after a week he decided to walk over to his neighbors house to see what was up. Sure enough, there was the dog. Just sitting there howling in pain. He knocked on the front door and when his neighbor appeared he asked, Is that your dog? The neighbor said, Yes hes mine. The man asked, Whys he howling? The neighbor replied, Because he is sitting on a nail. The man asked, Well why doesnt he just move?! The neighbor replied, Because it obviously doesnt hurt enough. So the question I put to you is, Are you in discomfort? - Author Unknown. Just how must discomfort do you have to be in before you will finally move? And like the dog if he had moved earlier he wouldnt now be in any discomfort, so whats holding you back from making that life choice that will take away the discomfort in your life and bring comfort back. Pain is a warning that something is wrong with your physical body. Discomfort is the same thing. It may not be intense pain but it is still pain that is warning you that things are not going to get better. So move. Do what you have to do. Make that change and get away from that discomfort. That long term discomfort that has been bothering you is not going to help you. It is uncomfortable because it has always failed you. This isnt about running from responsibilities, this is about something bothering you physically or spiritually, and it bothers you enough to give you spiritual discomfort. And that is a warning that things are not going to get better for you unless you do something about it. A thing about things getting better is that we may have to face a small amount of discomfort (fear, worries etc) to get off the nail that is causing us stress and never ending worries etc. We have to be brave, get out of our comfort zone and do what needs doing. There comes a time when we need to wake up and be brave. Trust God to lead you through it. All the best from James M Sandbrook.
