A man who is already in a significant position during this climacteric of Indian economy, who has at many times been arguing exactly the opposite of what the RBI has been doing these days, when stepping on as the head of the most complex and powerful central banks of the world a senior economic journalist has something to say… The gap between the Finance Ministry of the country and RBI had ‘stretched’ many times than the areal distance between Delhi and Mumbai during the tenure of the present RBI Governor D Subbarao. Raghuram G Rajan has promised to abolish this gap immediately after he was appointed as the next RBI Governor. The question of what will be the ultimate results of the ‘synchrony’ of (political) Government and institutions like RBI can be answered only by time.
