A man will appear in court later this month after being allegedly detected travelling at more than 200 kph on the Hume Highway at Goulburn today. Police from Goulburn Highway Patrol were provided with information about a silver sedan travelling at high speed through Marulan. Shortly after 6.30am today (Friday 11 April 2014), officers observed a silver Mercedes sedan allegedly travelling well in excess of the signposted 110 kph limit. Police will allege the vehicle was detected travelling at 206 kph in the wet conditions and at the time the man had a female passenger in the vehicle. The Mercedes was eventually stopped and the 31-year-old male driver was arrested. He was conveyed to Goulburn Police Station where he was later charged with drive speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 kph. The man was granted bail and is expected to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 30 April.
