A massive shift for me recently, For a long time I wasnt sure, but I thought that maybe I was missing out and at a disadvantage because I wasnt consuming meat and more specifically its protein. This concern was in relationship to building muscle, recovery and being the best athlete I can be. The meat and body building communities are built on protein and dominating their core beliefs are that meat is the most superior food you can eat because of its protein content...... as you read through their magazines, websites, blogs and watch videos by meat advocates you get the impression you really are missing out on some super food. Well after continual research, experimentation and personal experience I can personally assert that in my opinion plant based protein is not only healthier than meat, but superior! When all nutritional factors are taken into account getting high quantities protein into your diet is best done from plant based sources. That doesnt mean that just by being vegan your protein quantities will automatically be good enough without a good diet plan (if you are an athlete or BB), but a well devised plan can and will be superior to meat counter parts in my opinion.
