A mental health charity says that employers in Cumbria are ignorant and frightened when it comes to employing staff with learning disabilities. From the Carlisle branch of MENCAP the Chief Executive says bosses are missing out on some very talented people. One voluntary organisation is providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Adam Farrer and Claire Coleman work at the main cafe in Workington Community Hospital and love their jobs. Life would be rubbish without it, says Adam. MENCAP hopes to encourage more businesses to get involved and reap the benefits.
