A message from Lloyd Thompson, President Shreveport Chapter NAACP On Saturday, August 24th, 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m., the Shreveport National Action Network, the Shreveport NAACP, local chapter of the SCLC, and local Labor Unions will be gathering in front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse to stand with others of like belief who are marching in Washington D.C., Martin Luther King III, Rev. Al Sharpton NAN, NAACP, Labor Unions and survivors of the 1963 March on Washington. The local rally is to coincide with the Washington D.C. March designed to remind the nation that the “Dream” of equality is yet to be realized. We will be addressing issues involving Voting Rights, Jobs, LSU- Hospital, Immigration Reform, Stand Your Ground Repeal, and Unfair Sentencing of the Poor and Minorities. If you cannot make the Washington D.C. trip, please COME STAND UP WITH US.
