A message from OTTO PETERSEN ELEMENTARY Good afternoon, families, Hi, this is Whitney Hessong, Prinicipal at OPE. I wanted to let you know about a situation that occurred today at school. I was notified by a teacher that a note was found on the playground. This Death List had 22 names on it, primarily 5th grade students here at Petersen. All families with students involved, or thought to possibly be involved, have been contacted personally. We met with the police this morning immediately after the note was reported and and they conducted a complete investigation.. The student responsible for this list has been identified. Please be assured that all proper actions will be taken in regards to this incident. We we will continue to respond in line with all Scappoose School District protocol. Student safety is a top priority at every level in our school district. We will have increased supervision here at school and will continue to work in hand with Scappoose Police Department.
