A message from Stef: God is alive and He is busy with His Church. It has been stunning to watch as God has begun to move us as a Church, with increasing momentum, into our future. It feels as if God is calling many Newgenners to dream again, to be reminded of the treasure He has hidden in them and that He is calling them to greatness. Not greatness for the sake of self, but greatness for the sake of Gods glory and the sake of others. As an example, Francois & Roelien Pretorius flew out to Indonesia on Monday, Jarrod & Bronwyn Howard-Browne fly out to the UK this Friday. Is He calling you to more? As part of this season of releasing, it is my great joy and privilege to announce that Liberty will have a new congregation captain in the form of Glen Bodington. Through a beautiful process that has been bubbling and boiling in the background since last year already, we have seen how God has led us to remodel Liberty and ultimately weve been stirred with great faith as an eldership to release Glen as her captain. The heart of Liberty is to be open to any and everyone, from age 0 to 100 and everything in between. We have faith for Liberty to grow as a congregation that is representative of the broader community and want to ensure that all feel welcome, not just those to whom Liberty has historically been accessible. She is a congregation in her own right, with her own leaders, her own people, her own personality and her own aesthetic expression, but just like the rest of NewGen she carries in her heart the Gospel and in her veins the NewGen genetic. For Liberty to realise her full potential, she needs a leadership couple that can give their lives to her and her people. As an eldership, we believe we have found that in Glen & Gregan. What began as just an idea has been elevated by God to be a good idea and through much prayer, we, as an eldership, have faith that it is ultimately a God idea. On 21 September we will stand together in an historic moment when we will hand over Liberty to Glen & Gregan to captain her into her glorious future.
