A message from Steve.... Hello everyone, I would like to thank you all for your wonderful, charitable, kindness in our ongoing quest toward reaching our goal of a serious need for my family. Especially for my daughter Theresa. I just got back from the Shriners hospital on Monday. My daughters scoliosis is worsening. Thankfully padding was made for her chair that formed her body in her sloping position, so to keep her stable. We were also given some arm braces, one for her hand to keep her fingers and her wrist spread open, and thanks to a joint brace we are now able to extend Theresas arm in a 90% position.Hopefully progress will be made to fully extend her arm in the future. We also got a fold up stroller as well as a car seat. Unfortunately, I am still without a car.Thank you to the many friends that have taken me for medicines and groceries. A team is supposed to come up to my home to form a padding for her bed to make her body lay in a straight position. I am so thankful for my Mass Health, which thankfully pretty much covers all costs, but if not, Shriners would as well. I also received a new harness for our lifting system which now holds her head and neck upright, I was really worried because the old one was causing her body and back to want to bow the opposite way. I had to hold her back and neck while pushing the button to lift her, It wasnt easy. I was also told that if Theresa was to get the 10 hour scoliosis operation, I would never again be able to physically lift her. Everything would have to come by way of lifts. So that is one of the biggest reasons why it is so important to have a handicap accessible van. I was so thankful and hopeful toward a van a charitable donor was giving us, but unfortunately, it didnt work out the way that we were hoping. I felt really comfortable with asking for votes for the contest, but it is truly hard for me to ask your financial help. Today, for the sake of my daughter and her needs, I have to go against my ways of thinking and come to all of you and ask for your help. Will you please help? God bless. Steve (Theresas dad)
