Scott Morrison is desperately trying to rush through the Migration and Maritime Powers Legislation Amendment (Resolving the Asylum Legacy Caseload) Bill 2014. The Government needs a legislative win and they will resort to anything, including dodgy deals and punishing asylum seekers to get their way. The bill gives unprecedented power to the Minister of Immigration, tears up the rule of law and will return people to danger. Over 5,700 submissions were received relating to the bill. The overwhelming majority opposed the bill including thousands of individuals, academics, lawyers, human rights workers and refugee groups. Yet, Morrison and Liberal Senators ignored this community concern and expert advice. But the cross bench Senators are still making up their mind. Now, its up to you. They will listen to you.
