A message received by my husband Robin Gibb today: Dear Robin. On behalf of Yes Wigtownshire I would like to offer an unreserved apology to both your wife and your mother for the aforementioned comment from a panel member last night. Your mother and father have been into the Yes shop today and the same unreserved apology was offered from us and accepted by them with good grace. On behalf of Yes Wigtownshire - many apologies - Richard Arkless I am more than happy to accept Richards apology. It is not his fault that I was subjected to a personal and entirely unjustified attack in a calculated and sensationalist attempt to discredit my political beliefs. Once I receive a similarly gracious response from Ms Higgins, the matter can rest. Meanwhile, I will continue saving the world, and fighting the good fight, one apology at a time... And if you dont want to read about it, or think that, as a private citizen, I should not be entitled to have an opinion (presumably because it differs from your own), please feel free to unfriend or even block me - you wont be the first. I have checked the legal position - I am free to comment or campaign on any aspect of politics providing I do so away from my place of employment, as are those who share my profession but may differ in their political leanings. Looking forward to the next week.
