A message to all OWA members: It has been a pleasure working - TopicsExpress

A message to all OWA members: It has been a pleasure working with you and serving you over the past few years in both of my elected positions, first as OWA VP Technical and latterly as OWA President, however, due to a new career opportunity in the nation of Samoa, I have to remove myself as OWA President. As a member of the OWA, you may be unaware that I have been working overseas both at the Olympic / Paralympic Games in London and then the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow while honouring my commitment as an elected official of the OWA. Being in a volunteer role while living overseas was not without its challenges, however, life and sport does not come without challenges so we, as a team, adapted and were creative in our approach for the work ahead of us. I believe the OWA took brave and beneficial steps to move in a forward momentum for the sport and the OWA membership. The current Executive Board and contractors, as well as many other Committee members and clubs, have the capacity to carry on in this direction with the support and assistance of all members of the OWA. So I encourage you to get involved. With that, please support the OWA during its upcoming AGM at the end of this month. And as always, please contact me if you require any assistance with the sport of weightlifting and I will endeavour to a help. Also please note, I remain a member of the International Weightlifting Federation Executive Board and Chair of the International Weightlifting Federation Womens Commission. My email is moira@golassen if you have any queries or you may also contact me on most social media platforms (facebook, twitter, linkedin, skype, viber, etc) using my name as the user name. I wish you every success and always remember to finish your pull! Cheers, Moira Moira Lassen
