A message to my non-Australian friends around the world.. Unfortunately Australia has followed much of Europe in the election process & we are now under the control of a Conservative, right wing government, moreso than the deposed one. This is likely to mean the complete abandonment of any Carbon Emissions trading scheme in Australia, a worsening of conditions for the working population, further entrenchment of the Murdoch media empire in Australian Politics, increased fossil fuel exports, & further compliance with the war mongering tendencies of the US administration, along with a refusal to resettle those wanting refugee status from war-torn Nations (in defiance of UN resolutions) For this, & on behalf of socially concerned, Humanist Australians, I do apologise..
