Paul wrote this song while waiting for several of Georges friends - TopicsExpress

Paul wrote this song while waiting for several of Georges friends to finish their visits with him. George was dying. According to Eric Idle, Georges dear friend, George died in a house Paul owned. He was there so the press could not intrude on his last weeks with their intrusive cameras and cheapen his life with crass and vulgar headlines. According to Erics speech later for the reveal of George Harrisons star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame ... calling Pauls behavior all through Georges illness impeccable. High praise indeed for a member of Monty Python who has never been afraid to call a spade, a spade. As for Paul. He was waiting on the other side of the house. He wanted to be alone with just he and George in the room. In fact, Paul reached out to hold his hand. George held on to Pauls hand for the rest of a long visit. Their very last visit. Ever. Paul was amazed at Georges bravery, though he [George] was not able to talk much at the time in his illness. They communicatd though ... perhaps more strongly and openly than they ever had before. Clearly ... a very beautiful moment for these two guys ... and very brave of both of them to completely let their guards down and finish their time together on this earth on a blissful and beautiful note. At times like this, the line, and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. is much more than just one of the great lyrics ever written. This is why I love The Beatles story ... it has so much heart and soul. During this remarkable TV Special Chaos & Creation at Abbey Road, Paul introduced this simply by saying...time for a Georgie song.
