A mixed weekend for Team Croft!..... The weekend at Chimay got of to a steady start with thunder storms and high winds things were delayed most of the day while standing water was removed from the circuit. Qualifying got underway late in the afternoon and was cut to 1 session so the team set out to bank as many laps as possible! 6 laps complete and the guys were sat in 16th and approaching traffic so a tactical trip to the pits gave the team some clear track and they set off to put in a last set of flyers. at the chequered flag they secured a 6th place starting position the highest of the year. clear dry conditions for race 1 and the boys got off to a flying start and up to 5th at turn 1 they fought hard for the 8 lap race swapping places with Ouger/Piette throughout! and what a joy it was to watch Phill and Sammy really come to form and as the last lap board came out they made their move and took 4th on the breaks in to turn 1 and held it to the line! to take their best result of the season. things were much the same for race 2 as the guys battled again with Ouger/Piette and were looking as strong as in race 1 but this time as the final lap begun and they prepared to take 4th the engine let go and caused their first DNF of the season. Phill and Sammy are both delighted with the result and the bike will be in Sammy workshop today for a motor swap ahead of this weekends IDM race at Schleiz. thanks to all who supported them this weekend and we look forward to seeing friends old and new later in the season.
