Should be implemented in schools.......... Q.1 What does ‘Student Justice System’ stand for ? Ans. SJS(Student Justice System) is mechanism for providing justice to students through a confidential procedure where in the student themselves decide upon various conflicts and complaints through fair settlements or punishments. Q.2 How does a student register his complaint with the body SJS ? Ans. The students can avail a form available at the reception and drop it in the petition box locates near ICs room after filling or fill up the e-form whose link would be mailed to them after they send a request at the email-id provided by the school. Q.3 What sorts of complaints or cases can be filed under SJS? Ans. Complaints regarding individual students , teachers , management or regarding any procedure , in a nut shell anything which is unjust can be challenged by any student through this SJS ? Q.4 Who decides upon the cases registered under SJS ? Ans. A bench of five students chosen by the school with the consultation of the school’s council forms the jury who decide upon the cases . Q.5 How does this mechanism ensure no unruly treatment of the petitioner by the accused student/ teacher? Ans. The identity of the student is kept confidential , after the studying of the case the jury serves a summon to the accused ,if the justification is sensible enough then the case if closed , if not then the person found guilty is punished. Q.6 What type of punishments are given under this mechanism ? Ans. It is completely upto the jury to find a suitable fair punishment for the guilty , however the punishments such as depriving the person of using school facilities like- transport , photocopy etc are suggested for a week . Q.7 What if the petitioner is not satisfied with the judgment of the jury ? Ans. If the petitioner isn’t satisfied then the student can avail another form from reception and can submit the complaint to the Principal’s office directly.
