A morning update from #Gazas Ministry of Health: Israel has killed 72 Palestinians & wounded more than 520 in the ongoing attack. At the start of Day 3 of Israels so-called Operation Protective Edge, AFP reports that the Palestinian dead include at least 10 women and 18 children. In one predawn air strike, Israel killed 8 members of one family (al-Halabi): 3 women & 5 children. Medical officials in Gaza estimate that civilians make up some 50+ of fatalities. As the Palestinian death toll rises, a top IDF officer is quoted this morning as saying that strikes will escalate, with many more targets to attack. (for sources, see my Twitter @benabyad)
