A moving experience occurred in court today. After a long protracted custody litigation between ex-spouses, the day of trial arrived. After five hours of testimony, one final discussion was held and a settlement was at last reached. The parties, their respective new significant others and parents were in the court room when the agreement was placed on the record. I thought everyone had then left the court room, when I turned around and looked through the small window into the court room from the hall and saw my client and his ex-wife in a several minute long embrace. Finally, parents thinking of their child first, and not letting their issues become their childs. This child actually has a good chance of a successful future.
