A neighbourhood regeneration project consisting of 32 new homes, a new Early Childhood Education centre and the redevelopment of the local Scout Hall was launched Thursday 7th August 2014 at Glenbrae School in Glen Innes. The projects are the first phase of the long-term plans of the Tāmaki Redevelopment Company (TRC) which is a partnership between Government and Auckland Council to redevelop this community of predominantly state housing. The new Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre at the Glenbrae Primary School site is to be built by Keith Hay Homes. David Hay, Matthew Hay and Dave Bos attended the sod turning ceremony along with special guests Minister of Housing Dr Nick Smith and Auckland Mayor Len Brown. To support the local community, Keith Hay Homes is hosting a number of students from Tāmaki College as part of our construction team so that they can gain useful work experience. The students will be involved in the construction both off-site in our Drury yard, and on site at the school when the building is being established. Each student is looking for a career in construction and we see this a great opportunity to support them in their endeavours. beehive.govt.nz/release/fenchurch-neighbourhood-project-t%C4%81maki-launched Another project Keith Hay Homes are supporting is the refurbishment of the old Scout Hall. The hall is run down and needs extensive repairs to make it a useable but funding for the repairs are very limited. We have decided to step up and provide some sponsorship for this project which we are certain will become a great community hub for year to come.
