The Cavite governor related that based on police reports, Ambrosio died from a gunshot wound in the stomach after allegedly figuring in an altercation with Mercado on April 24, 2002. “Based on reports, the gun used in the shooting was registered to Mercado. He surrendered the gun a day after the incident,” Remulla said.
