A far as civil nuclear energy is concerned: i am opposed to the use of civil nuclear energy in India because of the local and global impacts of the entire chain of production. In my opinion, it is certainly not clean energy, and should be avoided. India has better alternatives than to look at nuclear energy for its energy mix. i have always maintained this position, and am opposed to the setting up of nuclear power plants in India, irrespective of which countries fund the projects and so on. 2. i am for universal global nuclear disarmament. India and the world ought to work towards achieving the aim of universal global nuclear disarmament. In the transitory phase, i would like to see India maintain an independent foreign policy while carrying out its duty of ensuring the security of its peoples through entirely transparent processes.
