A note from Scott: (challenge, recipe & a workout!) - STS Nation the 90 day challenge is in full swing and as we start the 3rd week some individuals are really seeing great results while others are still struggling to find the motivation to stay the course. Some struggle with finding time for workouts, other preparing food while some struggle with both. Here are a few ideas to overcome these particular obstacles. Easy recipe-Chicken in a bag! Buy a small (whole) chicken season it with pepper, garlic powder, turmeric, and whatever else you may want. Cut up either sweet potatoes, yams, and/or red potatoes along with onions, mushrooms and carrots place all ingredients with the chicken in a bag (like you would use for Turkey at Thanksgiving) and bake as directed. The prep time is not long and you can get other things done while the chicken is cooking. This chicken is great as leftovers too! Quick Workout-If you are on a time crunch, but want to get in a workout incorporate Tabata to get a good calorie burn and pump along the way. The following is an example that works the major muscle groups: 1. Squat jumps, 2. Push ups, 3. Leg curls with stability ball, 4. Seated rows, 5. Kettlebell swings, 6. Kneeling db press, 7. Shin huggers. Each exercise is 8 sets of 20 seconds on with 10 seconds rest for total of 3 minutes and 50 seconds. So you can see this workout can be done in less than 1/2 hour. No excuse!
