A number of lucky Newmaneers were among those who experienced a splendid Christmas Presence in Stroud on Saturday 13th, graced with two sparkling sopranos who are also genuine, unaffected people - Mary-Jess, who was delightful and true, admirable in every way, and Rebecca, who was . . . Rebecca, in formidable form - who when they sang together were quite enchanting. Kudos also to Barrie Voyce, CEO of Doors (the charity of the evening), for well-judged and effective speeches and especially to the versatile Christopher Boodle, who played the organ and also hauled about sundry items of equipment. And Jay was seen whizzing around, doing half-a-dozen different things at once. An evening to remember with huge appreciation and pleasure. - And Mary-Jess still has my pen. (I consider that an honour.) :-)
