A number of structural and political reforms that had been pending for 15 years were approved in Mexico. The reform agenda includes the structural reforms in the areas of education, telecoms competition, financial regulation, fiscal affairs, elections rules and energy. In 2013, that rate of economic growth was only set to reach over 1 percent, and this may prove to be the most important factor in pushing the government to continue the structural reform process.
