A painting is, technically, a color-packed spreadable substance that has been applied to a surface. Yet the masterpieces or carefree childrens expressions that captivate and delight us are the work of those who have spent time to make something beautiful or thought-provoking, to preserve and share an image or moment or message. What then of a God who longs to invite us into His ideas?...Who would fill a whole planet with variety and beauty and color and texture and raw materials and purpose and unique individuals, and, in its current state...need?...Who would set us loose to go out into it, asking us to pick up a brush loaded with compassion and hope and encouragement and help and spread it across Today? What has been crafted and called you? Go take your heart and gifts and splash them in unexpected places. Open your hands. Carry, clutch, and worry less. Release more.
