A parent asks our group: Anyone have any experience in Toronto with City Kids? They were setting up a home visit by an OT. The OT people just called and did a very quick intake on the phone and said since he can walk, hold a spoon do very basic fine motor skills and he is not severely under weight from his picky eating. (even though he will gag on some foods) and is skinny just not anorexic skinny; they said they can not help him. Anyone else experience this? Also asking if I was going to send him to preschool as he would get help if he was from another agency. The City Kids intake person never mentioned that the OT home visit people only deal with basic fine motor skills. She said well have to go through our benefits to find someone to help (nice she assumed we had benefits) How frustrating!!! Then she asked if I spoke to anyone at Surrey Place Center, I said I had never heard of it. Looked it up and its mostly for kids with autism which my son does not have. ugggg and I thought we were so close to getting him help
