A parent asks our group: Hi Iam new to this page my 3.5 year old son was first diagnosed with mild autism then that was ruled out and an OT thinks he has SPD. He talks non stop chews everything has meltdowns over tiny things and cant regulate well, is very particular re food, clothes, dislikes bright light and loud noises although his voice is super loud. He is intelligent and loving however when frustrated has started pinching and hitting he also is swearing a lot lately even though he knows its wrong. We dont beleive in smacking and have tried time out etc but no discipline seems to work. He is such a challenging boy but sooo gorgeous too. We are all new to this diagnosis and would appreciate any advice on treatments etc ESP cause hes due to start Kindy. I pray he makes friends and does well at school but I must say Im anxious as hes so in your face! It doesnt help that I have SPD and he triggers my senses.
