A parent asks our group: My daughters kindergarten teacher asked - TopicsExpress

A parent asks our group: My daughters kindergarten teacher asked me if I ever thought that my daughter has SPD. She is 17 months, has trouble falling to sleep without someone holding her back (that is alrady a big step forward), she crys hystericly when I need to cut her nails and toenails, when I need to clean her face, ears or nose or when I need to give her nasal spray. She doesnt like new things when its introduced to the group, but needs to first discover it on her own. She is extremly clingy to me or any other person (she always chooses one person, when Im not there). She doesnt like to have dirty hands and loves to organize everything. She always takes a longer time to get used to the sand on the beach or our sandpit in the garden. But when shes in she loves it. On the other hand: She likes swings and to bend over backwards. She loves it to lay with her head down on the couch or over me. She also likes tumbling around and things like that. I am not quite sure what I can do. Especially the screaming while cutting nails, putting clothes on, changing diaper is getting very difficult, as it sometimes takes two people to get it done. Thanks a lot.
