A parent asks our group: My son is 3 years 9 months he has asd and alot of sensory problems,he has an OT and she regularly sees him and makes suggestions,i still however am unsure about something(his spitting)he spits all day on the telly,his ipad,on our mobile phones,he spits on the floor,in the bath,in the hot tub,the OT suggested using a water squirter we did that but he is to small to understand to spray it so that doesnt help some people have suggested that he might be seeing imperfections on the screens of the telly ipad etc,but his now spitting on the mats in the bath,he also does hold his ears closed at times when he spits as well?!is this perhaps sensory overload or sensory seeking?He spat on my father in laws new telly and he shouted bad boy and i had to bite my tongue so badly i just thought what a bad grandpa he is to call his grandson a bad boy!!!!Il dreading going there again!!!Id actually like some information on this so i can stick it under his nose!!!Feeling confused,frustrated and at a loss of what to do!I know that when he enters a school setting this will not be acceptable,please advise x
