Two little birds, two separate accidents, same result - fractured mid-shaft tibia. These accidents illustrate the dangers of allowing birds to roam, unsupervised in the house. Little Peachey, the love bird, was accidentally jammed in a drawer - Little cinnamon, the conure, was injured by a 4 year old. We always say, a properly set up cage, with lots of safe things to chew and do, is a birds refuge. Dont think of a cage as a prison, it is the safe place for the bird. The house is full of unforseen dangers - if your bird is out of the cage - supervise him/her - if you cant actively supervise - put them backj in the cage - check out our web page CurrumbinValleyVetServices.au and look at out article Dangers of the House
