A parent asks our group: My sons (3) pediatrician referred me to a developmental pediatrician to officially evaluate him. Hes had OT for over a year (just finished bc he qualified for preschool thru the state) and both the OT and his regular dr agree that hes probably not on the spectrum but rather has SPD. My question is, can a developmental pediatrician label him as SPD or just for autism? If the dr cant do it, then theres really no point in going right? Does he need to see a psychologist? I just want to make sure Im seeing the right person and not wasting my time. Thanks
